About Heidi Hutchinson

Heidi lives just outside York with her husband, daughter and  English Pointer, Dottie.

Her artistic talents became apparent from an early age. She studied Graphic Design at York College, and later trained and worked as a signwriter within a Leeds sign company.  She soon diversified and discovered her fascination for painting and became a Pictorial Artist, painting pub signs, with subjects ranging from “The Blacksmiths Arms” to “The Queens Head” (and everything in-between), which are displayed outside hundreds of pubs across the country. She began painting animal portraits for her friends and family, and her career as a portrait artist developed from here.

Heidi’s other passion is for her horses. She rides, trains and competes her own two horses, Rodney and Jake, in dressage, and has trained several horses to advanced level – another precise discipline which requires great concentration and meticulous attention to detail.

She is now lucky enough to combine her passion for horses and animals, with her love of painting, and creates some amazing life like portraiture work, not only capturing the individual personality of each subject, but really making them come alive!HEIDI

Heidi undertakes commissions, and has painted not only horses, dogs and cats, but also parrots, goats, giant rabbits and even a car and a model train!

Her work often brings a tear to the eye of the recipient, and her portraits make the perfect gift for that special occasion, or a lovely way to treasure and remember your four legged friends.
